Learn The Truth
Learning English is a journey. It's a lifetime process. It needs practice and practicing should not be stopped anytime. Learning English is not only useful, but it also gives a lot of satisfaction and making progress will make you feel smarter.
You may have heard or seen many advertisements, shows, books, YouTube channels, Facebook groups, websites etc. that claim to teach English language absolutely and freely. Well, learning English should be free and always. On the other hand, people who are teaching English can earn some Revenue while teaching you and there is nothing problem we find. But the true thing is that only one channel, book, show, facebook group, course, playlist can't ensure you to be successful in this English learning.
we should admit that English is a language. It's not only a subject. Most of the learners have misconceptions here in this case. They try to get a good mark and want to become successful by learning it. If you want to hold a better mark you can do it. But unless you see English as a language, you can't master it. We learnt our own language not only from a single source. We learnt it from our surroundings, our parents, our demoniacs, our neighbours, tv, teachers, coeval etc. So, English should not be learnt from a single source.
First of all, learning a new language is all about learning knowledge. Quite interesting, right? Yes, let's have an explanation. Suppose you are given a topic about French Independence. Now write it. Hahahah. We know most of you can't. Because you don't have Knowledge here in this subject. Does it mean you are not capable of English? No, it doesn't. You just don't have Knowledge in French Independence. So, learning a language is all about learning Knowledge. The more Knowledge you have, the more confident you are in English but in one condition, you have to learn those Knowledge in English language.
In the second case, learning grammar is not mandatory. You didn't learn your language by grammar at first. You learnt it naturally. So why should you learn english grammar from the beginning of your journey? Yes, grammar is essential for us. It helps us to improve our language skill. It helps us to use accurate English. But it doesn't mean that we need grammar while learning a language from the very beginning of it.
We have to get rid of hesitation. Once you have the will to change and you acknowledge the need for yourself to change, everything else will start falling in place.
In the third case, don't focus on mistakes too much. It kills your motivation or interest. It can be said that
Practice makes a man perfect.
So without making mistakes, how can you practice? Make mistakes, correct it and go forward. Don’t care a lot about it.
In the fourth case, enjoying tv series, movies, song or drama will not bring expected change unless you really enjoy and understand them. You should start from something that interests you.
In the fifth case, there are so many facebook groups where they are telling you to write comments in order to learn English. Their opinion is that the more you write comments, the more you will feel better, comfortable, shyless etc. Yes that's true. Free handwriting is really needed to learn English and reading a post and then commenting there means getting knowledge and also learning the language which is a more effective way. But there are some objections as well. You should totally depend on commenting. Only commenting can't make you successful. You have to find good posts where you will find new information, new words, new rules, new happiness. You should not comment on that post which is similar to the post that you commented on before. Remember, time is money. This is valuable. Nothing is faster than speaking with oneself or with friends.
Last of all, only you are responsible for your success or failure. No one can give you success until you try for yourself. Most of the people fail because of consistency. Keep in mind, English is not a journey that you start and come to a final stop, an end point where you can say ,”yes, that’s it. I’ve learned English.” It’s a journey with ups and downs and if you take the journey not the destination then this should help you to avoid getting too disheartened, or at least when you do get disheartened, it’ll become easier to come back to the track.
