Some wrong methods while learning a new language

Learning English has no shortcut. Yet few tips need to be followed to boost up this learning process. From then onwards, some misconceptions come up. We already know that English is a language. It's not a subject only. On the other hand we learn English for various reasons. So, a person who needs to handle his customers in a restaurant doesn’t need to learn International news related vocabularies or phrases at all. Of course, he will start to learn those things which are important for his job.

Some wrong methods while learning a new language

There are some misconceptions available in the world when it comes to learning English. Misconceptions are obstacles. They kill your motivation, your hope, your enjoyment etc. Misconceptions are fair enough to stop you from learning English.

1/ Taking part in a course.

Some can imagine nothing rather than taking part in a course. You are good at something. They say "which coaching center taught you that?''. Well, taking part in a center is good. You can learn systematically, easy to hard, practically and also you can solve your problems from your teachers. So we find no problems when it comes to learning English. You can take part in it. But, to learn English, participating in a course is not everything. Because you can learn English without being admitted to any type of course. It's true.

Your mobile device or PC is totally enough to learn it. You just need to know how to use it. There are so many websites like this one, so many free online resources, youtube videos, pdf's, radio channels, tv, online English learners competitions, facebook group, mobile applications etc available where you can learn English. Yes, it's possible. But we again remind you that you should not stick on in just one category. You have to grab all kinds of sources. Surround yourself in a English environment. This is how you can learn English.

2/ You have to live where English is spoken.

Thanks to the internet, language content is available to anyone with a computer, phone or tablet. Where you live is not a matter. You simply need to have good and exact resources.

3/ You don't have time to learn English.

In this modern era, this is just a lame excuse. If you have a strong will, you can anyhow bring time for you. You can listen through your earphone, watch your favorite virtual teachers. Work and practice speaking together.

4/ I'm good at English but can't speak in public. Maybe I'm not good at it.

Have you ever tried to speak in your own language? The person who can't speak in public is that person who can't even speak in his own language as well. This is because of public speaking fear or introversion or lack of knowledge etc. So, these problems should be solved in a different way.

5/ I use English and words correctly but still some people laugh at me because I can't translate those words in my own language. They think I lie to them.

Well, carry on your practice. Let them think what they want to think. You are on the right track. If you know the actual meaning of a word or sentence or whatever you are telling then you are on the right track. Keep it up.

6/ Learning grammar is important while learning a language.

No, it's not important.  You didn't learn your own language by grammar. You learned it from your parents, siblings, relatives, classmates, teachers, surroundings, electronic media etc. You learned it by mistakes. You didn’t start your journey by learning grammar at first. So you should not start learning grammar when it comes to learning English at first. Be confident and then correct your language. Grammar  is for prettifying your language.

Always remember, you are a part of this world. You are important. Life is one. Live as long as you live.

Good luck.
