Consistency

 Consistency/Continuity

Imagine that you are at 'x' grade. You have 8 books. Each book has 10 chapters and each chapter has 4 lessons. So you have a total 320 lessons to complete in a year. So completing just one lesson in a day is all you need. This calculation indicates that this is so simple to complete. And we say yes, it's simple and completable. But what goes wrong? Yeah, this is a lack of continuity. In a class, 100% learners have the ability to complete their lessons. But only 5 to 10% can do it. This is because of their continuity skill. These kinds of quality people are really rare. This is why few students get better marks and most of the students get average marks. But you see, completing 320 lessons in just a year is not a big deal. Hence, you can't complete it because of continuity.

There are so many learners who have the ability to finish 4-6 lessons in a day or sometimes even more. They keep their lessons for tomorrow. This tomorrow never comes into today. Do you remember the story of the hair and the tortoise? You may have read it when you were in childhood.

In 'The Hair and the tortoise' story, we see a hair that was very arrogant about it's fastness and a tortoise that was very slow to walk. Once they started a race. The distance was very long. At the very beginning of the race, the hair crossed half of the distance. On the other hand, the tortoise was in it's own way. So the hair was thought to have a rest under a tree. While having a rest, it thought to have a sleep as well. The hair thought that the tortoise was still far behind him. It will not be able to cross the hair in that time. So having a sleep will not be a problem.

The tortoise was very industrious, consistent as well as successive. It has never taken any rest, nor water or food. It knew that the hair can't carry something for a long time. So, it didn’t stop it's race for a while. While walking, it saw the hair sleeping. After walking and walking, it came to the final destination. In the very moment the hair awaked up from sleep and realized that he had made it so late. So instantly it started to run. But alas, it was too late. The winner is already the tortoise. The moral of the story is "Slow and steady wins the race". And if we talk about English learning, it will never disappoint you.

Sometimes you may not be able to complete the day's lesson because you are not able to finish it. But, through day after day trying, your learning ability will definitely increase. So never stop. Just keep practicing. Believe it, that's the strength of continuity.
